Granted, I don't write as much as I should here, there is a reason for that. The things I do from day to day don't seem very interesting to me, it is just my life. However, there are very few days that I just sit around and do nothing. From working on my truck to riding my quad, gardening, hunting, hiking, camping and just generally doing stuff outdoors. Not to mention the ever present, KNIFE MAKING. Seems I spend a lot more time in the Survival Hardware shop than outdoors any more. The question is, What do you want me to write about? Gear reviews? Projects? Knife making? Survival Science? I am trying to expand the blog to cover all sorts of interesting things but I don't know what my readers find interesting because I don't get much feedback. So I am asking you "the reader" to chime in and sound off. let me know what you want and I will do my best to give it to you. Also remember that I have written for every single issue of Survival Quarterly Magazine. There is a wealth of knowledge between those covers so check them out as well. Keep writing about knives,and knife making. Outdoor skills. And I think that you should write about long range rifle shooting.

DeleteLots of folks myself included have a very bad feeling about the state of our nation and the world in general. Some "experts" say that WW 3 has already started. I make the assumption that as a retired Marine you were probably deployed in Irag or Afghanistan and therefore have first hand experience of what goes on in a nation during a crisis. I follow Selco's SHTF blog and find his insight very enlightening and what he teaches and talks about has the "flavor" of truth to it. Perhaps you could teach about similar things from the perspective of your experiences. The more we know about what to expect and what to do if a major war was to break out on our own soil MAY help to save untold numbers of lives.
ReplyDeleteScott, in my career I have seen the devastation first hand in Somalia, Iraq and Afghanistan. And I have seen many more natural disaster areas. I have seen how people react to having their lives turned upside down and how they try to recover. There are things that would be the same here, and many that would not. For starters they have a different social system and deal with hardships much differently. They do not rely on a government system for their livelihood and when their governments shut down it is business as usual...except for the excessive death. In short, you are right, and I will have to add that to my list of topics to write about. Thanks for your comment.

But your life experiance is another topic that would interest me you've "Been around the block" a few times and had some experiances many will never have. Some that you may not want to chat about (which is perfectly fine) and many we could all learn from. ~Doc
