All year the kids have been practicing for this day. Rocket club is run by the science teacher Mr. Nacarato, and it is a pretty amazing day for the rocket kids and the rocket man. I mean, its always a cool day when you get to launch rockets with actual NASA Astronauts.

USMC Issue survival kit Type 1 class 3 | Issued to Marine Recon and Sni...

This is a review of the complete contents of the Type 1 class 3 survival kit, also known as the Force Recon Survival Kit or the Marine Recon survival kit. This kit is selective issue to Ground Combat Elements in the Marine Corps in the early 90's. Primary it was issued to Recon and Sniper units but it is now widely available on the internet and in surplus stores. It was also adopted as the standard issue for instructors and students of certain courses at the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center. I cover the components of the kit and how to use some of them. I also cover some variations of the kit and recommended additions to the kit if you plan to make this your primary survival kit. Enjoy the video and feel free to leave me a comment if you have any questions. I will answer them if I can.

Angel Babi Bushcraft Ep01

Watch Angel Babi Bushcraft Ep01 now on YouTube
Well the time has finally come that my beautiful and talented wife has decided that she wants to learn bushcraft.  I figured that as long as she is going to learn from the ground up, I might as well video it and share her journey with all of you.  If she takes to this as well as she has taken to Hunting, leather work, and cooking then this should be a most enjoyable ride for those at home.  Pop over to YouTube

Pacecount

Hey folks,  Exciting things are in the works on this side of the treeline.  I have joined forces with Robert Munilla (Practical Survivor) and Mikhail Merkrov (Merk Wares and Emberlit) in a joint effort called PACECOUNT.  Our goal is to simply go into the wilderness often and learn, explore and create, with a healthy dose of humility and humor.  We make no claims other than to learn and have fun doing it.  We have grouped up to go out and just be present in nature and see what it has to teach us.  We have all spent more than enough time in the wild to understand how much it can truly suck.  The goal here is not to go out and show you our suffering, but to have a comfortable experience and enjoy simply being outside.  After all, if every time you go in the woods it is a suck-fest, you will be less likely to go.  We have been doing this together for a few years and now we have decided to take you along for the ride.  We have crossed a milestone and now we just want to be brothers, enjoy the outdoors and see what the world has to teach us.  We hope that you can join us for this exciting and probably slightly humiliating experience. Start by connecting with us on Facebook and Instagram, we have individual presences on YouTube and our permanent website is coming very soon, but we posted a temp just for you.   We hope that you will connect with us and we will see you in the wilderness.

So this is my first post of 2018.  There has not been much going on around here lately.  Just a little hunting and working in the Survival Hardware shop.  I suppose that the past few years have been more of a transition phase for me.  Moving from the deep south to the frozen north would take a little getting used to by itself but when you couple that with transitioning out of the Marine Corps and on to civilian life it takes time.  I feel like it took me longer than I could have expected to get my feet back under me.  We will see how long that I can maintain my balance but for now I feel like I have brand new level of motivation.  I have some big plans for 2018 and sincerely hope that you stick around and see where this thing goes.  In the mean time I can be found on Facebook @David Norseman Williams, @Survivology101 and @Survival hardware.  You can also find me on Instagram  @Dave_the_norseman.  Additionally I write for Breach Bang Clear and that platform seems to be gaining massive amounts of momentum.  I have also written for a few print publications as well,  Ill let you know if I continue with that.   My YouTube is Survivology101 and I intend to explore some live casing and make more videos as time permits.  Please let me know what kinds of things you would like to see from me and Ill do my best to accommodate you.    Of course I must also make time for my spoiled mistress known as Survival Hardware LLC.  Sooooooo, Giddy up!
